Back in 2009 just before starting my Master’s degree in Broadband Wireless and Optical communications from University of Leeds, I developed a broad and deep understanding of the “End-to-End Telecommunication infrastructure” by completing six different modules in this fantastic Telecoms training course conducted by Mr Sanjeev Goel.

The basis of this course was that the backbone of wireless networks is fixed telecom networks and fixed telecom networks were migrating towards IP based infrastructure. The six modules were Telephony networks, Access networks, Data Networks, Optical Networks, Wireless Networks, and Next Generation Networks.
Mr. Sanjeev Goel’s training material and personalised training was fantastic. His training course was methodical, starting with explanation of basics of telecoms networks followed by “deep dive” into different telecom domains. I enjoyed learning about a wide range of telecoms systems and networks.
Mr Goel was not just teaching me; he was making me think during the course. He was not a teacher for me but an awakener!
The broad and in-depth knowledge & skills I gained from this training course massively helped me in obtaining a “sort after” graduate entry job/ role in the Network design team at BT (United Kingdom) in 2011.
In 9 years at BT group, I have progressed my career at a fast pace to become the “Technical Design Authority” for Access Network infrastructure owned by Openreach (which owns the Access network arm for BT group).
There is a famous Chinese proverb; “If you are planning for a year, sow rice; if you are planning for a decade, plant trees; if you are planning for a lifetime, educate people.”
Mr. Sanjeev Goel’s brilliant and unique telecoms training course educated me about the Telecoms world and gave me a “bird’s eye view” of the Global Telecoms infrastructure.
